Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking an EEG Technician II to support neurology service lines at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. You will perform standard and special EEG recordings, assist in training EEG students, and contribute to research projects while working under moderate supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma, EEG course certification, ABRET EEG certification, BLS, and at least one year of EEG technologist experience.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Approved EEG course completion required.
  • ABRET EEG Certification is required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • At least 1 year of EEG technologist experience preferred.
  • Three years of EEG technologist experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs standard and special EEG recordings, including evoked potentials.
  • Records sensory evoked potentials for diagnostic purposes.
  • Obtains EEG recordings in the operating room during neurosurgical procedures.
  • Records EEGs at bedside in ICU and other settings.
  • Calibrates EEG equipment for standard and special recordings.
  • Adapts electrode placement to non-standard locations as needed.
  • Assists medical staff during procedures with monitoring and electrode application.
  • Contributes to research by data collection and case history.
  • Provides clear technical descriptions of EEG changes to surgeons during monitoring.
