Our client, a fast-growing EdTech company, is seeking a seasoned Senior Editorial & Print Systems Manager who will lead the strategic vision and end-to-end process for print content development. This role oversees a small editorial and re-versioning team while managing external vendor relationships to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery of print textbooks and supporting materials. With a focus on scalable workflows and seamless integration between digital and print formats, this position plays a key leadership role in shaping how curriculum content moves from manuscript to finished product.
Evaluate and refine print production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Oversee the creation of detailed production briefs for vendors based on editorial content.
Review vendor submissions for quality, style, format, and adherence to specifications.
Identify risks in the print production process and implement proactive solutions.
Monitor vendor performance and support vendor evaluation and selection.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define workflows for transitioning between digital and print formats.
Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all stages of print production.
Ensure version control, content traceability, and proper archiving of print assets.
Standardize formats, page dimensions, and specifications for vendors to ensure consistency.
Coordinate the reprint process for core products.
Partner with accessibility specialists to ensure compliance with readability and accessibility standards.
Maintain alignment and consistency with broader organizational print and editorial processes.
Perform additional duties as needed to support departmental and organizational goals.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Publishing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Minimum 4 years of experience in print production, editorial workflows, or publishing operations within educational or related content fields.
At least 5 years of experience in project management and process optimization.
Strong editorial judgment with excellent attention to detail.
Familiarity with content management systems, archival / version control tools, and XML-based workflows.
Proficiency with print production software such as InDesign and Acrobat.
Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG, readability guidelines).
Proven ability to manage vendors and cross-functional workflows effectively.
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
