National Geographic is seeking a Senior Manager, Editorial Operations to oversee production across print and digital platforms. You will manage workflows, timelines, and cross‑department collaboration to deliver high‑quality content for Nat Geo Magazine and related publications.

The role requires strong leadership, deep editorial knowledge, and mastery of production tools such as InCopy/InDesign and Airtable. Onsite work in DC area is expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of editorial workflows/management experience, preferably in a magazine environment.
• 5+ years leading projects with 25+ editors and designers.
• Experience with print products and their production processes.
• Experience with digital platforms and their production processes.
• Familiarity with copy editing and fact-checking methodologies.
• InCopy/InDesign and Airtable are commonly used tools.
• Exceptional written and oral communication, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end print production workflows: scheduling, issue production, printer delivery.
• Provide structure and PM for high-priority digital features requiring cross-department collaboration.
• Maintain print editorial calendars and coordinate with editorial leadership.
• Oversee content flow across print/digital platforms, including prioritization and timing.
• Guide copy editing and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Act as power user of Airtable to keep deadlines, tasks, and story details up-to-date.
