Job summary

Eleven Media is seeking a Senior Editor to lead Entertainment coverage across Hollywood, TV, movies, and pop culture in a remote, full-time capacity. This leadership role focuses on breaking news, analysis, explainers, and in-depth reporting, guiding a team of writers and editors to maintain top editorial standards.

You will develop daily and long-term coverage plans around major events, recruit and mentor talent, review and edit stories, and use analytics to sharpen audience performance.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience editing and leading coverage of entertainment, Hollywood, television, movies, celebrities, or pop culture.
• Experience managing editorial teams in a newsroom or digital publishing environment.
• Strong understanding of the entertainment industry, including studios, streaming platforms, television, film, and awards.
• Excellent editing, research, reporting, fact-checking, and analytical skills.
• Ability to distinguish verified facts, reported claims, analysis, and opinion while maintaining high editorial standards.
• Experience planning editorial coverage around breaking news, major releases, award shows, premieres, and long-term entertainment trends.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Experience using analytics and audience insights to improve editorial performance and coverage strategy.

• Assign stories, identify strong editorial angles, and help shape reporting, analysis, explainers, and commentary.
• Review, edit, and occasionally write stories while maintaining the highest editorial standards.
• Ensure accuracy, sourcing, consistency, and overall editorial hygiene across all published content.
• Monitor audience performance, identify trends, review analytics, and use insights to improve editorial strategy and coverage.
• Help recruit, interview, onboard, and develop editorial talent.
• Maintain clear communication across the editorial team and ensure priorities are aligned throughout the news cycle.
• Take ownership of the overall quality, consistency, and performance of the Entertainment editorial team.
• Remain flexible during breaking news, award seasons, premieres, major industry announcements, and other high-impact entertainment events.
