Qualifications

• 8+ years of personal finance reporting and editing experience.
• In-depth understanding of loans and credit card industries, including market trends and consumer concerns.
• Experience creating data-driven methodologies to evaluate loans and credit card products.
• Proven track record of managing and developing editorial teams.
• Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
• Ability to deliver high-quality content consistently in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to identify structural or stylistic issues in copy and provide clear line edits.
• Familiarity with affiliate revenue models and operations is preferred.
• Prior experience on staff in a newsroom or major digital publication environment.

Responsibilities

• Edit and write high-quality articles on loans and credit card topics tailored to WSJ subscribers.
• Manage credit cards compliance and update as needed.
• Uphold rigorous editorial standards for independent reporting.
• Ensure sourcing and oversee fact-checking across the team.
• Coach and mentor writers and editors to deepen knowledge of loan products.
• Develop data-driven methodologies for evaluating loan products.
• Coordinate data collection, fact-checking, and scoring for large datasets.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop best-in-class content.
• Partner with editorial and commerce teams to plan future editorial lineups.
