US Citizenship
Ten years editing experience (education may count)
Bachelor's in Journalism or English (or related field)
Master's in related field may count for up to two years
Superior English mechanics and vocabulary
Knowledge of plain language principles
Strong PC skills and Microsoft Office
Adobe InDesign and FrameMaker experience
Diagnostic assessment score requirement

Responsibilities

Review, analyze, and correct draft material for clarity, style, organization, and grammar.
Guide subject matter experts and editors on logic, clarity, brevity, and relevance.
Edit analytical manuscripts for structure, completeness, and compliance with language standards.
Produce and disseminate documents in multiple formats compatible with various systems.
Provide quality control per customer policy and standards.
Attend editor and tasking support meetings and stay current with action items.
Review metadata for completeness and correctness.
Communicate work status and requirements clearly with team and customers.
Support crisis work, special assignments, and ad hoc tasking; oversee lower-level contractors.
Perform quality checks on contractor outputs.
