Job summary

Black and White Zebra seeks a Senior Editor to build The CTO Club into a trusted, community‑powered media brand for engineering, AI, and technology leaders. You will own editorial strategy, develop audience systems, and shape experiences across newsletters, video, podcasts, events, and partnerships.

You’ll recruit contributors, run interviews, create data‑informed content from practitioner insights, and oversee distribution to improve subscriptions, engagement, and authority.

Qualifications

• Strong editorial judgment and audience instincts.
• Experience creating B2B or practitioner-led editorial content.
• Strong interviewing and synthesis skills.
• Translate complex technical workflows into engaging editorial experiences.
• Experience growing newsletter engagement and community participation.
• Experience across multimedia formats (newsletters, video, podcasts, events).
• Comfort using analytics to guide experimentation and optimization.
• Experience collaborating with contributors and strategic partners.
• Understanding of SEO, distribution strategy, and AI discovery trends.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create editorial experiences to grow subscribers and engagement across formats.
• Write, edit, assign, and publish across articles, newsletters, social posts, video, podcasts, livestreams, and events.
• Develop content informed by practitioner insight, including interviews, surveys, and social listening.
• Focus on engineering leadership, AI adoption, scalability, platform reliability, developer productivity, security, and modern tech execution.
• Program webinars, livestreams, roundtables, podcasts, and editorial events.
• Repurpose editorial IP into newsletters, social content, videos, reports, and community assets.
• Ensure output reflects the publication’s tone, usefulness, authority, and audience relevance.
• Identify opportunities to increase audience participation, contribution, sharing, and return engagement.
