Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Economist for the Stores Economics and Science (SEAS) team to drive high-impact analyses that guide pricing, demand estimation, substitution, and experiment design. You will own research end-to-end, mentor junior economists, and collaborate with engineers and product managers to translate insights into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics or equivalent.
• Experience in econometrics (program evaluation, forecasting, time series, panel data, or high dimensional problems).
• Experience working with software developers and product managers.
• Experience in building statistical models using R, Python, STATA, or related software.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end research from problem formulation to stakeholder communication.
• Develop economic models and empirical analyses that inform strategic decisions.
• Design and analyze experiments, translating findings into clear recommendations.
• Mentor junior economists and raise the bar on economic rigor across teams.
