Job summary

The State of Indiana’s Indiana State Budget Agency seeks a Senior Economist to lead complex revenue forecasting and fiscal analysis. You will provide subject matter expertise to navigate evolving economic and policy challenges, with emphasis on taxes and revenue legislation.

This exempt, full-time role requires strong Excel and analytical skills, plus excellent communication and leadership abilities to drive results for Hoosier taxpayers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Public Administration, Business Management or related with 4+ years forecasting experience, or
• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years forecasting experience or 10+ years in a similar role
• Extensive knowledge in economics, statistics, econometrics and quantitative analysis

Responsibilities

• Regularly update stakeholders on economic, tax and revenue trends and projections
• Produce economic, financial and policy analysis of tax and revenue legislation
• Develop tools, dashboards, databases, presentations and reports
• Lead projects with analysts and deliver on forecasting requirements
• Explain complex economic ideas to a broad audience and support decision making
