Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Principal Economist to advance economics and science products in the Fee domain, focusing on supply chain systems and pricing. You will guide leaders on pricing services and design scalable models for optimal pricing and policy in a two-sided marketplace.

You will develop econometric frameworks, estimate causal effects of fees, and collaborate with cross-functional teams across Advertising, Supply Chain, Operations, Prime, Consumer Pricing, and Finance.

Qualifications

• PhD in Economics, Computer Science, or highly related field (Statistics, Finance, Math)
• Experience with big data and machine learning or data science
• Coding ability in a scripting language such as R or Python or STATA

Responsibilities

• Develop econometric models to estimate causal impact of fees
• Lead development of causal models to isolate effects of fee changes
• Collaborate with Economists, Data Scientists, Strategy Analysts, Data Engineers, and Product leads to integrate economic insights into policy and systems
