Job description

Job Summary

The Senior Ecommerce UX/UI Designer will be a senior, hands‑on digital designer responsible for creating premium ecommerce experiences that are visually elevated, conversion‑focused, and built for scale. This person will own design across the Blue Tees Golf website, Shopify experiences, landing pages, product pages, collection pages, email/SMS, campaign extensions, funnels, and other digital customer touchpoints.

This is not a traditional UI/UX role focused only on screens and wireframes. This is a growth‑oriented ecommerce design role where visual craft, customer journey thinking, conversion optimization, Funnel understanding, Figma discipline, proactive problem solving, and revenue impact are all essential.

The right candidate will be able to identify a broken customer experience, diagnose the issue, propose a solution, design it, collaborate with development, QA the implementation, measure performance, and continue improving the experience over time. This is a design role, not a front‑end engineering role, but the ideal candidate understands development constraints and can partner closely with developers through handoff, QA, and iteration.

Portfolio is required. Strong candidates should be able to show not only polished visual work, but also the business or customer problem, the audience insight, the design hypothesis, the solution, implementation considerations, and the impact of their work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own digital design across ecommerce, landing pages, product pages, collection pages, campaign pages, email/SMS, funnels, and other digital customer touchpoints.
  • Design premium, conversion‑focused ecommerce experiences that improve customer understanding, product discovery, add‑to‑cart behavior, checkout flow, and overall path to purchase.
  • Partner closely with Ecommerce, Growth, Creative, Product Marketing, and Development to translate business priorities into high‑performing digital experiences.
  • Redesign and optimize landing pages, PDPs, collection pages, navigation, cart experiences, bundles, upsells, cross‑sells, subscription flows, reviews, and post‑purchase touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with the Ecommerce Manager to evaluate current site performance, review customer behavior, identify friction points, and prioritize UX and design improvements.
  • Use analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, customer feedback, testing results, and performance data to inform design decisions.
  • Build clear design hypotheses and contribute to a practical CRO and A/B testing roadmap.
  • Create polished, developer‑ready Figma files from wireframes through final responsive designs, prototypes, components, annotations, and handoff documentation.
  • Partner with front‑end developers and overseas development teams to scope feasibility, provide design direction, QA implementation, and ensure final execution meets brand and UX standards.
  • Design mobile‑first ecommerce experiences with a strong understanding of how customer behavior and conversion patterns change across devices.
  • Create high‑quality email/SMS designs for promotional campaigns, launches, lifecycle flows, transactional experiences, and reusable templates.
  • Create custom visual assets, typography treatments, page layouts, iconography, product graphics, campaign systems, and motion or interactive elements that feel premium and brand‑right.
  • Maintain and evolve reusable digital design systems, Shopify components, page patterns, landing page modules, email templates, and brand‑consistent digital guidelines.
  • Study competitors, category leaders, ecommerce UX patterns, emerging design tools, consumer behavior, and conversion trends.
  • Use modern AI tools to accelerate research, ideation, concept exploration, prototyping, asset development, and production workflows while maintaining strong taste and craft.
  • Move quickly across multiple projects while maintaining a high bar for detail, visual quality, usability, and commercial impact.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve the customer experience instead of waiting for direction or maintaining the status quo.
Qualifications and Requirements

Required

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating ecommerce design work, landing pages, PDPs, digital campaigns, mobile‑first experiences, customer journey improvements, and polished visual execution.
  • Deep experience designing for ecommerce, DTC, Shopify, or high‑conversion digital purchase experiences.
  • Expert‑level Figma skills, including components, variants, auto layout, responsive states, prototyping, annotations, and clean developer handoff.
  • Strong visual design craft across typography, layout, hierarchy, composition, product storytelling, and digital brand systems.
  • Clear understanding of ecommerce CRO, paid traffic funnels, customer journeys, merchandising, product education, offers, subscriptions, bundles, and conversion psychology.
  • Experience designing landing pages and funnels for different audiences, products, campaigns, offers, and traffic sources.
  • Strong understanding of Shopify or Shopify Plus, including themes, apps, page templates, mobile responsiveness, front‑end constraints, and development realities.
  • Ability to work directly with developers through scoping, handoff, QA, launch, and iteration.
  • Experience using analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, customer behavior insights, or testing data to inform design decisions.
  • Experience designing email and SMS creative for promotional campaigns, launches, lifecycle flows, transactional moments, or reusable templates.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, including tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.
  • Working knowledge of modern AI tools and how they can improve design research, ideation, prototyping, production, and workflow speed.
  • Strong attention to detail, high ownership, proactive thinking, and the ability to identify problems before they are assigned.
  • Ability to balance brand quality, usability, technical feasibility, speed, and business performance.

Preferred

  • Direct experience with Shopify Plus.
  • Experience with low‑code or no‑code tools such as Webflow, Framer, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with CRO tools, A/B testing platforms, GA4, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or similar analytics and behavior tools.
  • Experience with Klaviyo or comparable email/SMS platforms.
  • Experience with motion design, Lottie animations, micro‑interactions, or interactive product storytelling.
  • Working knowledge of 3D product visualization tools such as Blender, Redshift, or similar platforms.
  • Experience collaborating with overseas development teams.
  • Experience in consumer electronics, sports, golf, lifestyle, DTC, retail, or premium product brands.
  • Experience designing for subscriptions, memberships, bundles, upsells, cross‑sells, or post‑purchase journeys.
  • Performance marketing awareness and understanding of what happens before and after the click.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, UX/UI Design, Product Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience and a strong portfolio may be considered in place of a degree.
  • 6-10+ years of relevant digital design experience preferred, with significant direct experience in ecommerce, DTC, growth design, or conversion‑focused digital experiences.
  • Competitive salary and bonuses
  • 401(k) with 3% match
  • Unlimited paid time off, including holidays and sick leave
