Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Senior Ecological Risk Assessor to support the Federal Programs Team from multiple U.S. offices, including Atlanta, GA and others. You will coordinate risk assessments across multimedia domains and engage with clients and regulators.

You will lead projects, author proposals, review technical work, ensure CERCLA and regulatory compliance, and travel as needed to meet project goals and business development.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Toxicology, Biology, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in conducting, authoring, directing, and performing technical review of multi-media ecological risk assessments with increasing levels of project complexity and responsibility
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of ecological risk assessment principles, procedures, and guidance particularly USEPA CERCLA
  • Demonstrated successful interactions across a range of private sector and governmental clients
  • Performance and technical review of multi-media screening level and baseline ecological risk assessments for common and emerging contaminants
  • Completion of projects through feasibility studies and Records of Decision (including identifying risk-based remedial goals)
  • Extensive experience in scoping, managing, and conducting ecological risk assessment components for each of the stages of the CERCLA process including:
  • Experience with risk communication with clients and stakeholders, and at conferences and professional organizations including presenting complex technical information in a concise and accurate manner

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Ecological Risk Assessor with the potential to work out of any of our WSP offices, which may include Atlanta, GA; Kansas City, MO; Gainesville, FL; Valhalla, NY; Morristown, NJ; Buffalo, NY or Boston MA. Be involved in projects with our Federal Programs Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients’ objectives and solves their challenges.

The successful candidate will collaborate with our current team of risk assessment team members to support our growing risk assessment and toxicology practice in project planning and execution as well as public outreach and stakeholder communication. Risk assessments will be prepared to meet the requirements of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and many States’ environmental regulatory programs.

The position will involve coordination and implementation of project work associated with multimedia (air, water, and soil) risk assessments and environmental regulatory compliance in the industrial/commercial and government sectors as well as project management.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. in Toxicology, Biology, or equivalent.
  • Experience with per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $103,000 - $166,900

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $103,000 - $156,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
