Job summary

The Echovascular Sonographer II at MUSC Health performs echo vascular studies including echocardiograms, Doppler, carotid duplex, arterial and venous studies, and TEE as required. The role prepares paperwork, maintains quality assurance, and collaborates with physicians across MUHA hospitals to ensure care aligns with orders and is documented in records.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited echo/vascular ultrasound program, ARDMS/CCI

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited echo/vascular ultrasound program or on-the-job training.
• ARDMS RVT or RCDS or CCI RVS/RCS certification required prior to hire.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform echo and vascular studies including transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms, carotid duplex, arterial/venous studies.
• Maintain understanding of normal and abnormal cardiovascular anatomy and pathology.
• Prepare appropriate reports for echo and vascular studies.
• Learn department/hospital routines across hospitals served.
• Assist with ongoing quality assurance activities.
• Maintain rapport with physicians and hospital staff.
• Participate in on-call, weekend, and holiday schedules.
• Participate in student education programs.
