Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a DSP IV Lead/Charge DSP at Brenham State Supported Living Center to supervise direct care staff, ensure quality active treatment, and manage unit operations. You will implement care plans, monitor resident progress, and collaborate with a bonded group home director.

The position demands strong leadership, reliability, and the ability to respond to emergencies, with regular night shifts and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Two (2) years’ experience working in the field related to this position (working with people with developmental or physical disabilities).
• Experience in a supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Attend regular shifts and may work a rotating schedule, including overtime as needed.
• Schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and staff/individual ratios.
• Monitor individual participation/progression and communicate with staff.
• Ensure efficient delivery of care, training, and support activities on the unit through supervision of activities and work behaviors.
• Plan and supervise work of others; transport individuals as needed.
