Job summary

CSI Recruiting is seeking a Drilling Engineer for an in-office role in Dallas, TX. You will provide drilling engineering and operational support for drilling programs, design wells, and deliver detailed projects, including rig selection criteria and mud/cement programs.

You will collaborate with Geoscientists, Completion Engineers, Production Operations, Regulatory Analysts, and Reservoir Engineers, monitor costs, and report to senior management. Travel to the field as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Petroleum Engineering or another engineering discipline.
• 8 to 15 years of drilling engineering and operations experience, with horizontal, field development and exploration work.
• Must have horizontal drilling experience; Permian Basin experience preferred.
• Extended lateral drilling and rotary steerable experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of drilling hazards and mitigation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related drilling software.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope, well designs and cost estimates for early project phases.
• Prepare final well designs and drilling programs for exploration, delineation and development wells.
• Collaborate with Geoscientists, Completion Engineers, Production Operations, Regulatory Analysts and Reservoir Engineers.
• Monitor real-time and post-well costs; verify and approve wells.
• Keep senior management informed of progress and incidents; advise on high-risk issues.
• Liaise with Drilling Superintendents on program prep, execution and performance analysis.
• Maintain relationships with on-site Supervisors, contractors and service providers.
• Design wells to support field development and prepare cost estimates.
• Report and optimize operations; apply technology in directional drilling and completions.
• Manage logistics and reporting of operations.
