Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Drainage Engineer in Meridian, ID with 7–9 years of drainage and stormwater engineering experience. You will lead design efforts for stormwater systems, review technical calculations, and mentor junior staff across public and private sector projects.

The role requires PE licensure or progress toward licensure, strong hydrology/hydraulics knowledge, and proficiency in Civil 3D and related modeling tools. On-site collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 7–9 years of progressive experience in drainage and stormwater engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or actively pursuing licensure.
• Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and drainage design principles.
• Proficiency with drainage and modeling software (e.g., Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, InfoDrainage, XP-SWMM).

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the design of stormwater, drainage, and flood mitigation systems for land development and infrastructure projects.
• Prepare and review drainage reports, technical calculations, plans, and specifications.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using industry-standard software.
• Apply local, regional, and national drainage standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and manage drainage-related risks, constraints, and opportunities throughout project development.
• Coordinate with civil, transportation, structural, and environmental teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Review contractor submittals and respond to RFIs during construction.
• Support development of cost estimates, schedules, and design optimizations.
