Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems in San Diego, CA, seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical enterprise network. You will serve as a senior technical resource for DNS infrastructure, cybersecurity compliance, and Tier III operational support across secure environments.

The role requires hands-on engineering for DNS, DNSSEC, Infoblox DDI, VMware/Hyper-V, and scripting. You will develop system diagrams, SOPs, and guidance while ensuring service availability and adherence to RMF security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field; 4 years of experience may substitute.
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise systems, network engineering, cybersecurity, or infrastructure operations.
• Expertise in enterprise DNS administration, Infoblox DDI, DNSSEC, IPAM, ISC BIND, TCP/IP networking, VMware/Hyper-V, PowerShell, Linux/Unix, shell scripting, Oracle databases, configuration management, root cause analysis, Tier III support, and cybersecurity compliance.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (e.g., CASP+, CISSP, CCNP Security) and a Computing Environment Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering, integration, implementation, and operational support for enterprise DNS infrastructure and related network services.
• Plan, design, test, validate, and deploy system enhancements and technology upgrades.
• Maintain configuration baselines and oversee enterprise infrastructure changes to ensure service availability and compliance.
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, virtualized environments, databases, security appliances, and supporting technologies within secure lab and production environments.
• Administer and support enterprise DNS services, including DNSSEC signing and validation.
• Configure and manage Infoblox DDI platforms, Grid Management, and IP Address Management solutions.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for DNS-related issues and service outages.
• Implement and maintain Risk Management Framework security controls and cybersecurity requirements.
• Evaluate system vulnerabilities and support remediation activities associated with security findings.
• Develop and maintain system diagrams, architecture documents, standard operating procedures, and technical guidance materials.
