Job summary

Foxley Talent is seeking a backend-focused Django professional to build and maintain web applications in a US-based, on-site environment with remote availability. You will design models, views, and REST APIs, and integrate with external partners to support community features.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years Django ORM experience, PostgreSQL/MySQL familiarity, and frontend basics (HTML/CSS). Strong independence and security-minded coding are essential.

Qualifications

• US resident with full right to work status.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• A minimum of 5 years experience with Django including ORM, models, views, and templates.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Frontend familiarity with HTML and CSS.
• Any experience with lower level languages is a bonus but not required.
• Comfortable working independently in a remote US based environment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain web applications using Python and the Django framework.
• Design and implement backend logic, database models, and user profile systems for community and contributor focused functionality.
• Implement mailing list and newsletter systems that help users stay connected with community activity.
• Collaborate with external partners to integrate third-party services.
• Build systems that recognise contributors through profile features, participation tracking, through GitHub and other 3rd party APIs.
• Ensure all code is maintainable, secure, and aligned with best Django practice.
