Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences is seeking a Senior Distinguished Engineer in California to lead the technical strategy and execution of a multi-generational Heart Failure Management portfolio. You will own system-level development across implantable sensors, patient devices, clinician software, and hospital calibration systems, partnering with R&D, Operations, and Regulatory teams.

The role requires a PhD or Master’s in engineering, 15+ years as a technical leader in medical devices, and ability to travel

Qualifications

• 15 years plus experience as a technical leader for complex medical device platforms (implantable sensors, class II/III devices)
• Proven success in new product development, process development, validation, and manufacturing transfer
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and system ownership for Heart Failure Management platform, including implantable MEMS sensors and patient devices
• Establish and drive manufacturing technology strategy for complex heart failure therapies
• Define and advance manufacturing and operational strategies through Design for Excellence, automation, process validation, and quality engineering
• Serve as the senior technical SME for complex engineering challenges, root cause investigations, and regulatory submissions
• Champion innovation to improve product capabilities and manufacturing performance
• Mentor and develop engineering talent and shape long-term technology vision
