Job summary

AstraZeneca plc in Rockville, MD, seeks a Senior Leader to oversee warehousing and distribution for the Rockville Manufacturing Center, ensuring reliable material flow for cell therapy manufacturing and patient supply.

You will define strategy, build the organization, drive continuous improvement, and partner with Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain to maintain inventory accuracy, COI/COC controls and GDP/cGMP compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in warehousing, distribution or logistics within a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience building organizations, ramp‑ups and developing leaders; strong GDP and cGMP, SHE, governance, risk and compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the RMC warehousing and distribution strategy, operating model and priorities, translating objectives into plans, budgets and resources.
• Lead the warehousing organization ramp-up including workforce planning, recruitment and training; establish roles, escalation paths and leader standard work.
• Ensure end-to-end warehouse activities are executed safely, compliantly and on time to support cell therapy manufacturing and patient supply; ensure material availability with GMW.
• Establish governance for inventory accuracy, COI/COC, traceability and discrepancy investigations; manage temperature-sensitive and restricted materials.
• Maintain inspection-ready operations through SOPs, validated systems, data integrity, deviations and CAPAs in partnership with Quality.
• Drive performance using Lean Six Sigma and TPM; monitor safety, quality, service, cost, capacity and inventory.
