Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Managing Director of Security Architecture & Engineering, a senior technologist responsible for secure-by-design enterprise technology and cybersecurity platforms at speed and scale.

You will partner with CIO and CISO to align security architecture and platform investments with business priorities, delivering secure engineering and security platforms that enable rapid, compliant protection across cloud, applications, infrastructure, and emerging tech.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, cloud engineering, or technology leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-level security architecture, secure engineering, and cybersecurity platform delivery functions.
• Deep expertise across cloud platforms, security architecture frameworks, and security domains.
• Experience advancing modern engineering practices (cloud-native, DevSecOps, automation, APIs).
• Familiarity with AI/ML security considerations, data protection, and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead Security Architecture & Engineering as an enterprise capability, advancing secure-by-design practices and cybersecurity engineering capabilities.
• Establish and govern security architecture standards, reference architectures, and design patterns across apps, cloud, infrastructure, and platform services.
• Ensure secure-by-design and DevSecOps practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Drive platform engineering to improve reliability, scalability, and adoption of security portfolios.
