ICON plc is seeking a Sr Director, Project Delivery (Cardiovascular) to lead complex cardiovascular programs from a remote US location. You will drive delivery strategy, manage cross-functional teams, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and partner with stakeholders to meet client expectations.

This senior role requires deep CRO experience and a strong track record managing multi-site projects. The position offers remote work within the US and opportunities to influence global project

Qualifications

• Extensive cross-functional project management experience including full-scope deliverables and budgeting
• 15+ years of relevant experience in project delivery
• Experience leading teams through process and system development, review and implementation
• English fluency (read, write, speak) required
• Experience in a CRO environment with sponsor collaboration preferred

What will you be doing?

As a Director of Project Delivery (DPD), you’re no stranger to lengthy to-do lists, but we’ve broken the DPD role down to three main functions.

Business Development

You use your expertise to improve delivery, profitability, quality, and client satisfaction. You do this by taking a hands‑on approach with your team and scope. You do what it takes to gain business, retain business, and mitigate risks.

Leadership

You don’t just manage, you mentor. You raise up the next generation of talent within PRA. You set your team up for success. You relay strategies to your team that will maintain profitability and client satisfaction.

Innovation

You identify opportunities to improve the Project Management Group. You collaborate with your peers and leaders to define, develop, and implement improvements both locally and globally.

What do you need to have?

• Extensive cross-functional project management experience, including full-scope project deliverables, financial management, regulatory compliance (ICH-GCP), project scheduling, and resource management, required
• Typically, 15+ years of relevant experience, required
• Demonstrated experience in leading teams through process and system development, review, and implementation
• Experienced mentor
• Project Management experience in a CRO environment, required
• Project Management experience within a sponsor environment, preferred
• Undergraduate degree in health sciences from an accredited institution or international equivalent degree, required.
• An advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., M.D.), preferred
• Business related course work (management, marketing, accounting, budgets, personnel management, negotiation skills, etc.), preferred.
• English fluency (ability to read, write, speak), required
• Travel of up to 25% is required for this position. Exact amounts of travel will vary, pending client needs.
• To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.As a Senior Director, Project Delivery at ICON you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects, ensuring that they meet organizational goals and client expectations.

What You Will Do

You will direct quality assurance and compliance activities, ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Developing and implementing project delivery strategies and methodologies to ensure successful project outcomes and alignment with ICON Plc's objectives.
• Leading and managing project teams to ensure the effective execution of projects, including planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Overseeing project performance, including tracking progress, managing risks, and addressing issues to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and deliverables, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensuring adherence to project management best practices, including quality assurance, risk management, and change management.
• Staying updated on industry trends and emerging practices to continually improve project delivery processes and methodologies.
• Providing strategic leadership and guidance to support the successful execution of projects and the achievement of business objectives.

Your Profile

You will bring significant quality assurance and compliance experience, with a track record of building high‑performing teams and delivering results.

Required Qualifications And Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or healthcare-related field; advanced degree preferred
• Extensive experience in project delivery, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading cross‑functional teams.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including experience in strategic planning and influencing project outcomes.
• A strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Must have experience with cardio‑metabolic, Mash or Hepatology indications.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
