Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Director, Product based in United States.

This is a senior product leadership opportunity at the intersection of sports technology, SaaS, proprietary data, and artificial intelligence.

You will own a multi-product portfolio spanning Coaching, Player Personnel, Recruiting, and Intelligence across multiple sports markets.

The role is focused on creating a unified, AI-first product strategy that transforms how elite sports organizations evaluate talent and make decisions.

You will lead product managers and product leaders while partnering closely with engineering, design, data science, marketing, sales, and finance.

As a highly visible product leader, you will engage directly with coaches, general managers, front offices, scouting leaders, leagues, and strategic partners.

You will also carry revenue and P&L accountability, helping expand the business into new sports, markets, and geographies.

This is an opportunity to shape an emerging product category while combining strategic vision, customer intimacy, AI innovation, and commercial leadership.

Accountabilities
  • Own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap across Coaching, Player Personnel, Recruiting, and Intelligence, creating coherence across a portfolio developed through organic growth and acquisitions.
  • Develop a differentiated, multi-sport AI strategy focused on high-value workflows such as opponent scouting, self-scouting, talent evaluation, recruiting, free agency, transfer portal activity, and contract or scholarship decision‑making.
  • Translate the AI strategy into a multi-quarter product roadmap, identifying where agentic experiences can create meaningful leverage and where traditional SaaS workflows remain the right solution.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of product managers and product leaders operating across multiple sports, markets, and geographies.
  • Serve as the senior external representative for the product portfolio in customer discussions, league partnerships, enterprise RFPs, and industry forums.
  • Maintain deep relationships with coaches, front-office executives, GMs, scouting directors, personnel leaders, and league operators to continuously identify customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Partner with engineering, design, data science, product marketing, GTM, and finance teams to establish priorities, accelerate execution, and deliver differentiated products.
  • Collaborate with proprietary data and technology teams to turn unique datasets into AI-powered products and agents, making strategic decisions about platform-level versus product-level capabilities.
  • Identify common workflows across sports while respecting meaningful differences between markets, maximizing shared technology leverage without compromising sport-specific customer needs.
  • Drive integration and strategic alignment across acquired and organically developed product portfolios, establishing a cohesive product vision and operating model.
  • Own revenue and P&L accountability for the product category, partnering with commercial teams to secure major enterprise and league‑wide opportunities and expand into new sports and international markets.
  • Provide clear product leadership through periods of organizational growth, transformation, and ambiguity while maintaining strong execution and accountability.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in product management or software development within B2B SaaS, sports technology, vertical AI, or a comparable technology-driven industry.
  • Demonstrated success managing and evolving a multi-product portfolio, with the strategic judgment to determine where AI-native experiences create value versus where established SaaS workflows remain more effective.
  • Proven experience leading product managers and product leaders in complex, multi-market environments, including organizations experiencing acquisitions, rapid growth, or significant transformation.
  • Alternatively, experience operating as a General Manager or business-unit leader with ownership of strategy, roadmap, go‑to‑market, and P&L outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of professional and/or collegiate sports, including a strong understanding of how front offices, coaches, GMs, personnel teams, scouting organizations, and leagues make decisions and purchase technology.
  • Strong sports fluency, with the credibility to engage directly with senior sports executives and practitioners.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and shipping AI-native products, ideally involving proprietary datasets and models.
  • Understanding of AI technology tradeoffs, including in-house machine learning, third‑party foundation models, and hybrid approaches.
  • Experience working with data science and engineering teams to translate proprietary data into differentiated product capabilities.
  • Experience integrating or rationalizing acquired product portfolios is highly desirable.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively with customers, league partners, technical teams, and commercial leaders.
  • Strategic and commercially minded, with the ability to connect product decisions to revenue, market expansion, and P&L performance.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and capable of turning complex challenges into clear priorities and executable plans.
  • Strong customer orientation and a demonstrated ability to stay close to users throughout product discovery, development, and iteration.
  • Experience directly selling or delivering technology products to professional sports organizations is a strong advantage.
  • Subject matter expertise in football or basketball through coaching, scouting, front‑office, analytics, athletic, or product experience is a plus.
  • This position is not eligible for employer sponsorship at this time.
Benefits
  • Competitive executive-level compensation aligned with experience and scope of responsibility.
  • High‑impact product leadership opportunity at the intersection of elite sports, SaaS, proprietary data, and AI.
  • Broad product ownership spanning multiple products, sports markets, customer segments, and geographies.
  • Executive visibility and customer exposure, including opportunities to work with professional and collegiate sports organizations and league stakeholders.
  • Leadership opportunity to build and develop a high‑performing product organization.
  • AI innovation exposure, with the opportunity to shape AI‑native workflows and products powered by proprietary data.
  • Growth and expansion opportunities across new sports, markets, and international regions.
  • Inclusive workplace: Commitment to diversity, equal opportunity, and reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process.
