Job summary

Ryan Companies is seeking a Director of Preconstruction Services (DPS) to lead Preconstruction, Estimating and Project Management staff across regions. The DPS will drive pursuit, preconstruction, estimating and procurement while elevating the marketing of DB, IPD and preconstruction services.

The role requires a four-year construction degree, 10 years in construction with 5 in preconstruction, and proven leadership. Salary range is $170,000–$220,000 with additional compensation potential.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in construction management or construction engineering.
• Minimum 10 years construction experience and 5 years in preconstruction role.
• Proven ability to manage teams successfully and profitably.
• Estimating background with experience in conceptual estimating.
• Thorough understanding of design/build and IPD delivery processes.
• Thorough knowledge of the architectural, engineering, and construction processes.
• Maintains balance of costs and aesthetic quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Preconstruction, Estimating and Project Management staff across regions.
• Provide templates, tools, and processes to improve scoping, scheduling and budgeting in preconstruction.
• Promote Design-Build and IPD project delivery methods.
• Sell the value of preconstruction/design management services on pursuits.
• Balance workload across regions and share best practices.
