The Senior Director of Omnichannel Fulfillment is the business leader responsible for defining and executing the end-to-end fulfillment strategy across stores, distribution centers, digital channels, and third‑party partners. This role connects customer demand, merchandising and buying decisions, inventory deployment, and operational execution to deliver a seamless, profitable customer experience. The ideal candidate brings deep retail experience across inventory management, buying or merchandising, and store and supply chain operations, with a proven ability to translate commercial priorities into scalable fulfillment capabilities.

Role Scope

This senior business leadership role owns the omnichannel fulfillment roadmap, business requirements, operating model, and performance agenda. The Senior Director leads a team and influences leaders across Merchandising, Buying, Inventory Planning, Allocation, Stores, Distribution, Transportation, Digital, Product, Technology, Finance, and Customer Experience. The role reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain.

Responsibilities
  • Set the omnichannel fulfillment strategy: Define the multiyear vision, roadmap, and operating model for ship‑from‑store, buy online/pick up in store, curbside pickup, same‑day delivery, ship‑to‑home, drop ship, returns, expected delivery date and other customer delivery options.
  • Connect commercial and operational priorities: Translate assortment, buying, promotional, and channel strategies into inventory positioning and fulfillment plans that balance customer promise, speed, availability, cost, and margin.
  • Lead inventory optimization: Partner with Inventory Planning and Allocation to improve enterprise inventory visibility, location‑level availability, safety stock, order routing, rebalancing, and aged inventory productivity across stores and distribution centers.
  • Own business performance: Establish goals, governance, and operating rhythms for order fill rate, on‑time shipment, on‑time delivery, cancellation rate, unit economics, inventory accuracy, labor productivity, capacity utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Guide order orchestration: Define business rules and priorities for sourcing and routing orders based on inventory availability, customer promise, capacity, proximity, margin, and total fulfillment cost.
  • Lead peak and event readiness: Coordinate demand scenarios, inventory deployment, staffing, capacity, carrier plans, and contingency actions for holiday, promotional, launch, and weather‑driven demand.
  • Shape technology capabilities: Serve as the senior business owner for capabilities involving distributed order management, inventory visibility, warehouse and store fulfillment, forecasting, transportation, and customer communications.
  • Build partnerships: Align senior leaders and external partners on priorities, investment cases, service commitments, and issue resolution; clearly communicate tradeoffs and recommendations.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Use customer insights, operational data, root‑cause analysis, pilots, and test‑and‑learn methods to improve service, simplify work, reduce cost, and scale best practices.
  • Lead and develop talent: Build a high‑performing team, establish clear accountability, develop succession plans, and strengthen omnichannel capabilities across the organization.
