Work Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; occasional early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours.

Department

The Department of College and Program Development within the Division of University Advancement generates financial support for Cal State Fullerton, benefiting each of the eight colleges, Student Affairs, Titan Athletics, the Arboretum and Botanical Garden, and the Pollak Library.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Assistant Vice President for College and Program Development.
• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward planned giving donors for the university.
• Manage a portfolio of major and planned giving prospects, conceptualizing, planning, and implementing a growing planned giving fundraising program that generates private support from individuals for campus‑wide programs.
• Provide reporting and valuation support, and work with donors' attorneys, accountants, and other agents to establish gift agreements and transfer gifts when they mature.
• Manage the Ontiveros Legacy Society and related stewardship activity.
• Collaborate with volunteers, other development and advancement staff, and university representatives to cultivate and solicit donors for university‑wide priorities.
• Enlist the involvement of faculty, campus executives, and alumni in expanding individual support for the university.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of successful major and planned giving experience, with a proven track record of securing gifts of at least $500,000.
• Ability to work effectively with advancement staff in devising, analyzing, modifying, implementing, and evaluating development programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of the higher education environment and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel.
• Proficiency in the use of general office equipment, Windows‑based PCs, administrative computing systems, Microsoft Office applications, and other relevant software.
• Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG) certification is required.
• Thorough knowledge of legal, tax, and related aspects of planned giving vehicles.
• Demonstrated development experience within higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7–10 years of successful major and planned giving experience.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid California driver’s license.
