Green Key Resources is seeking a senior pharmacy operations leader to guide systemwide strategy across divisions, aligning with organizational goals and priorities. You will drive high‑reliability operations by partnering with site leaders to implement standardized workflows, shared technologies, and best‑practice models in dispensing, IV workflow, robotics, and inventory systems.

You will oversee budgeting, workforce planning, quality and safety, and regulatory compliance while leading teams

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Pharmacy.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health.
  • 5 years of pharmacy experience in a health system.
  • 5 years of progressive leadership experience in a health system OR HSPAL residency with 4 years of leadership.
  • Knowledge of high-reliability safety practices and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead pharmacy automation, robotics, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Optimize purchasing, inventory and cost control; support drug shortages and contracting.

Job description

Leads system-wide operational strategy for pharmacy services across all divisions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities. Drives consistent, high-reliability operations by partnering with leaders to implement standardized workflows, shared technologies, and best-practice models. Leads enterprise advancement of pharmacy automation, operational technology, and AI-enabled solutions, overseeing evaluation, implementation, optimization, and life cycle management of dispensing, IV workflow, robotics, inventory systems, and related operational platforms. Optimizes purchasing, inventory management, waste reduction, and operational cost controls in partnership with business services and site leaders, while supporting drug shortage mitigation and contracting workflows. Leads enterprise operational preparedness, business continuity planning, and emergency response coordination to ensure reliable medication distribution and system resiliency.

Provides comprehensive oversight of assigned pharmacy divisions, including strategic priority setting, financial performance, annual budgeting, workforce management, patient experience, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, leads high-performing teams through effective talent management, workforce planning, coaching, performance evaluation, leadership development, and succession planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technology & Innovation: Direct the implementation and optimization of pharmacy automation, robotics, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Supply Chain & Financial Stewardship: Optimize purchasing, inventory control, and cost reduction while supporting drug shortage mitigation and contract management.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Lead business continuity, continuity of operations planning, and emergency response coordination for medication distribution and staffing contingencies.
  • Talent & Leadership Management: Foster high-performing teams through coaching, staffing optimization, succession planning, and performance accountability.
  • Regulatory & Quality Oversight: Maintain compliance with operational regulations, accreditation requirements, and high-reliability safety practices.
Qualifications
Education
  • Required: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Pharmacy.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or Public Health.
Experience
  • Required: 5 years of pharmacy experience within a health system or similar setting.
  • Required: 5 years of progressive leadership experience within a health system OR completion of an ASHP Health-System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership (HSPAL) residency plus 4 years of leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to design and execute systemwide strategy and drive change across divisions without direct authority.
  • Expertise in process-improvement methodologies, high-reliability practices, and operational optimization.
  • Strong technical understanding of pharmacy automation, robotics, and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Skill in interpreting financial, operational, and technology data to guide decision-making and prioritize improvements.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards for medication-use systems.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Licensed Pharmacist - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) within 60 Days(Required)
  • Required: 340B University OnDemand (Apexus) within 180 days.
  • Preferred: Advanced 340B Operations Certificate (Apexus) within 2 years.
