Job description

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries.

We are looking for an Sr. Director of Enterprise Systems to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

Department Summary

The Sr. Director of Enterprise Systems leads this transformation and, on an ongoing basis, owns the enterprise systems that connect our business and engineering operations in support of aerospace manufacturing. This role has enterprise wide accountability for our core business systems (ERP/ SAP S/4HANA, master data, and business intelligence, delivered through the Business Information Systems team) and our engineering systems (PLM and engineering software, delivered through the Engineering Systems team); both teams, and their current Directors, report to this role. The ideal candidate combines deep enterprise systems (ERP/SAP) implementation experience with genuine fluency in PLM and engineering data including BOM structures, change management, and the handoff between engineering and manufacturing execution plus a track record of leading organizational change through large, cross-functional technology programs.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and ongoing governance for Janicki's enterprise systems landscape, including SAP S/4HANA, PLM, and adjacent engineering and business applications.
  • Lead the current SAP S/4HANA implementation through completion, including scope, timeline, budget, and cutover risk, in partnership with the implementation partner/SI and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide direct leadership to the Business Information Systems (BIS) team and the Engineering Systems team, including their current Directors, aligning both groups around shared priorities and a single enterprise systems roadmap.
  • Establish and maintain data, process, and change governance across ERP and PLM, including clear ownership and decision rights for master data, BOM structures (E-BOM to M-BOM), and cross-functional change records.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, and Quality leadership to ensure enterprise systems support the full product lifecycle from design through shop floor execution.
  • Drive adoption and organizational change management across the business, including stakeholder alignment, training, and communication to directors, managers, and end users.
  • Manage relationships with SAP, PLM, and other software vendors and implementation partners, ensuring delivery accountability without ceding scope or architectural decisions.
  • Develop and manage the enterprise systems budget, including implementation costs, licensing, and ongoing support and improvement investment.
  • Build and mentor a team capable of sustaining and continuously improving enterprise systems well beyond initial go-live.
  • Report progress, risks, and key decisions to executive leadership and serve as the primary escalation point for enterprise systems issues.
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience leading enterprise systems, IT, or business systems functions, including at least one full-lifecycle ERP implementation (SAP strongly preferred) as a scope/delivery owner, not solely a participant.
  • Demonstrated experience with PLM systems and the engineering-to-manufacturing data thread, including BOM management, engineering change processes, and configuration/serialization concepts.
  • Proven track record leading organizational change management across cross-functional teams with competing priorities (engineering, planning, manufacturing, finance).
  • Experience managing SAP implementation partners/SIs and software vendors, including holding them accountable to scope and timeline.
  • Prior experience managing managers or directors, with the ability to lead through existing team leadership rather than only individual contributors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with SAP PEO (Production Engineering and Operations) or equivalent M-BOM/E-BOM conversion tools.
  • Experience establishing data, process, or systems governance frameworks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced degree (MBA or related) a plus, but not required.
  • Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
