Job summary

CoreWeave, The Essential Cloud for AI, seeks a Senior Director of Compute Services to own the infrastructure powering internal and external platforms. You will deliver compute capacity to leading AI labs and work with thought leaders to shape the future of AI computing infrastructure, including bare metal, Kubernetes, container registry, and virtualization.

You will define the engineering roadmap, lead multi-team groups, and own the availability and security of services in production.

• 10+ years building and operating production services.
• 5+ years in engineering leadership including managers.
• Proven track record delivering compute products at cloud/AI-focused org.
• Experience designing distributed systems with high availability and clear ownership.
• Strong enterprise security concepts: auth, encryption, audit logging.

What You’ll Do:

As Senior Director of Compute Services, you will be responsible for the infrastructure that supports internal and external customer platforms. Your services will deliver compute capacity to the most innovative and demanding AI labs in the world. You will work closely with thought leaders to define the future of AI computing infrastructure covering bare metal deployment, kubernetes, container registry and virtualization.

As Senior Director of Compute Services, you will be responsible for the infrastructure that supports internal and external customer platforms. Your services will deliver compute capacity to the most innovative and demanding AI labs in the world. You will work closely with thought leaders to define the future of AI computing infrastructure covering bare metal deployment, kubernetes, container registry and virtualization.

• Define and drive the engineering roadmap for CoreWeave compute products
• Lead and grow high-performing engineering teams, including managers and senior ICs, responsible for building and operating security-critical services.
• Own the availability, reliability, and performance of security product services in production, including SLIs/SLOs, incident management, and on-call practices.
• Partner closely with Product Management to translate customer requirements into clear technical designs and delivery plans.
• Oversee the architecture and implementation of secure, scalable, and auditable systems that power customer and internal workloads.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams (Sales, Solutions, Customer Experience) to support complex enterprise deployments and unblock high-impact opportunities.
• Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, quality bars, and operational best practices for security products in a rapidly growing environment.

Who You Are:

• 10+ years of experience in software or infrastructure engineering building and operating production services.
• 5+ years of engineering leadership experience, including directly managing other managers and scaling multi-team organizations.
• Proven track record of delivering at scale compute product products at a cloud provider, security company, or large-scale SaaS, preferably in an AI or Machine Learning environment.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems with high availability, strong correctness requirements, and clear operational ownership.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security concepts such as authentication, authorization, least privilege, encryption at rest and in transit, and audit logging.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating with Product Management and Security/Compliance teams to prioritize trade-offs and ship customer-facing platform capabilities.
• Experience building and mentoring diverse, inclusive, and high-performing engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.

The base salary range for this role is $256,000 to $341,000. The starting salary will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation. In addition to base salary, our total rewards package includes a discretionary bonus, equity awards, and a comprehensive benefits program (all based on eligibility).
