Job summary

Unity Search is recruiting for a Senior Director of Finance and Accounting for a PE-owned manufacturing company in Dallas, TX. The role reports directly to the CFO and will lead the finance function, drive planning, analysis, and reporting, and optimize cash flow and margins.

The position requires 10+ years in finance with manufacturing/retail/distribution, a Bachelor’s in accounting, and CPA is highly preferred. Strong Excel/modeling and international finance oversight are valued.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience, with private equity and/or a public accounting foundation ideal.
• Manufacturing, retail or distribution experience required.
• CPA HIGHLY preferred and will get first consideration.
• Strong excel and modeling skills as well as data management experience.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead the finance team (2 direct reports) in controllership, inventory management, costing, financial planning & analysis as well as oversight of international finance controllers.
• Identify, maintain and track KPI's and update relevant dashboards and/or reporting tools to enable functional leaders and senior management to make data-driven decisions.
• Partner with operations to evaluate costs, productivity, inventory and develop effective and timely cost reporting and variance analyses.
• Manage and assist with various ad hoc projects, such as margin analysis, inventory management / costing, and SG&A spend analysis.
• Review capital investment proposals based on business cases, challenge business owners, and provide oversight of capital budgets and analysis.
• Manage the implementation of financial process improvements and information systems assuring reliable and timely financial information.
• Lead the annual budget and financial planning process to ensure partnership between finance team and functional business leaders.
• Support monthly closing and summarize financial results and expectations for senior management as well as monthly and quarterly compliance reporting ownership.

Unity Search has been retained with this medium-sized PE-owned manufacturing company in search of a Senior Director of Finance and Accounting.

This role will serve as a critical resource reporting directly to the CFO. We have solid insider intel on this organization, environment, and leadership. All VERY positive!

Reporting to the CFO, this role will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of company financial planning, analysis & reporting, treasury functions, and ensure company accounting procedures and reporting conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

The position will also partner with peer management team members to optimize company earning power and cash flow by helping the business identify and capture revenue and margin growth, cost reductions and operational efficiency opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
