Job description

Base pay range

$200,000.00/yr - $220,000.00/yr

The Senior Director HRBP will partner effectively with various levels of management across the enterprise to support the WSS Banner to meet and exceed the business needs in today’s and future retail landscape. This Senior HR Director will work in a collaborative manner effectively navigating the matrix across multiple business functions to provide support on all facets of HR including; employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, talent management and the associate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support key leaders and associates in a HR business partner capacity anticipate needs of the business, build strong relationships, influence business decisions and develop strategies to maximize associate performance and engagement. Directly support the WSS Leadership Team and their respective functions.
  • Develop strategies to optimize & refine the overall WSS Org to further define career paths leading to a stronger bench.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to develop the overall recruitment strategy to identify talent needed for the present and future.
  • Foster a strong culture through employee lifecycle experiences including onboarding, engagement events, development. Diagnose opportunity areas and partner with leadership to develop action plans driving improvements.
  • In partnership with the HR VP, lead the annual Executive Development Review (succession planning) and develop programs to enhance skills and increase bench strength.
  • Coach and counsel associates and supervisors on employee relations issues to drive improve culture. Personally manage challenging ER issues and bring to resolution.
  • In partnership with the HR VP, lead the Executive Performance Appraisal/Calibration process for the WSS division.
  • Support annual associate engagement process. Partner with leaders to analyze & disseminate results and build action plans focused on key opportunity areas. Develop strategies to drive engagement improvements year over year.
  • Assess current processes and programs and develop new ideas and prepare proposals for future improvements.
  • Develop retention strategies to drive engagement in partnership with HR VP.
  • Provide oversight to the LA site to ensure calendar of events is developed annually and events are assessed for optimal associate engagement.
  • Oversee successful implementation of the summer internship program including selection of candidates, program agenda, program events, business project, and evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10+ years relevant Human Resources experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or other field with a combination of HR experience
  • PHR preferred
  • Experience with FMLA and California employment law preferred
  • HR Management experience in a retail industry strongly preferred
  • True leader and team motivator, able to build collaborative and cohesive teams
  • Proven ability to form strong business partnerships and influence business decisions
  • Passion for delivering results by working closely with associates at all levels
  • Demonstrates leadership qualities through high levels of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and work effectively in a matrix environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Powerpoint, Excel)
  • Systems experience with Oracle PeopleSoft, Kronos and SuccessFactors a plus
