Descripción del empleo

Who We Are
At PolyNovo, we are committed to improving the outcomes of patients through the development and provision of the best surgical solutions possible. PolyNovo develops innovative medical devices utilizing the patented bioabsorbable polymer technology NovoSorb®. Our lifesaving and life-changing products have revolutionized the treatment of burns and major trauma, and have multiple emerging indications. With 130 employees in the U.S. and over 300 worldwide, PolyNovo has positively impacted the lives of more than 65,000 patients globally.

About The Role

The Senior Director, Global Marketing owns PolyNovo's future portfolio: identifying where the NovoSorb® platform can solve unmet clinical needs, deciding which opportunities to pursue, and preparing them for launch. As the voice of the customer and market in the innovation and Stage Gate process, this role partners with R&D, Clinical and Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Intellectual Property, Operations, Quality and regional commercial teams. The role is accountable for ensuring innovation investments align with global market opportunities, clinical evidence requirements, customer needs, and long-term business objectives while facilitating successful transition of new product initiatives into downstream commercialization teams.

Responsibilities
  • Assess global clinical trends and treatment pathways to identify unmet needs and growth opportunities, including adjacent specialties (e.g., hernia repair, breast and plastic reconstruction, orthopedics, trauma, general surgery).
  • Build and maintain global market models (TAM/SAM/SOM, growth forecasts, competitive dynamics) to prioritize indications, customer segments and geographies.
  • Lead a structured global Voice of Customer program, including surgeon, clinician, procurement and administrator research, across the innovation lifecycle.
  • Monitor competitive products, technologies, clinical evidence, IP and acquisition activity, and brief executive leadership on threats and white-space opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain PolyNovo's long-range portfolio strategy and roadmap, including future platform expansion for NovoSorb technologies.
  • Recommend investment, acceleration, partnership, licensing, acquisition or discontinuation decisions using commercial, clinical and financial criteria.
  • Translate customer and clinical insights into Target Product Profiles and design inputs, partnering closely with R&D and engineering.
  • Lead commercial assessments and business cases (forecasts, NPV, pricing, naming and packaging) and present recommendations at Stage Gate reviews.
  • Define the clinical, economic and operational value proposition for pipeline products and the evidence required to support adoption.
  • Partner with Health Economics, Market Access, Medical Affairs and Clinical Affairs on HEOR models, value dossiers and budget impact models.
  • Identify reimbursement pathways (coding, coverage, payment) early and build them into investment decisions.
  • Work with Regulatory Affairs on global approval pathways (FDA, CE Mark, TGA, PMDA and others) and with Legal/IP on patent landscape and freedom-to-operate, so risks are identified early.
  • In partnership with Medical and Clinical Affairs, build KOL, SME and advocate networks and run advisory boards, innovation workshops and technology forums to validate concepts and assumptions.
  • Own a repeatable upstream-to-downstream handover process, transferring customer insights, value propositions, market analyses, evidence plans and launch assumptions to US and Rest of World Downstream Marketing.
  • Lead matrixed project teams across Marketing, R&D, Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory, Market Access, Quality, Operations and Finance, influencing without direct authority.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global upstream marketing team.
  • Align and inspire team members by communicating a clear vision for success
  • Envision a better future and champion change. Bring people along and align actions with corporate strategy.
  • Foster a culture that lives into the PolyNovo values. Lead with integrity, fairness, ethics, and compliance.
  • Assess, attract, hire, develop and engage the best diverse talent to meet current and future needs of the business.
  • Understand and effectively use Performance Management and Development processes and tools to drive engagement and performance.
  • Provide feedback and coaching that is invested in developing people, improving outcomes, and managing relationships effectively.
  • Establish and communicate clear goals and roles, commitment, inclusion, and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare or a related field required.
  • MBA or advanced business, marketing or healthcare-related degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive medical device marketing experience, including 5+ years in upstream marketing, portfolio strategy, product management, innovation or new product planning.
  • Proven success leading new products from concept through commercialization.
  • Experience in advanced wound care, regenerative medicine, biologics, surgical or tissue technologies, orthopedics, plastics or adjacent markets preferred.
  • Experience supporting global markets and cross-functional development teams; inpatient and outpatient clinical setting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Stage Gate development, Target Product Profiles, Voice of Customer, HEOR and reimbursement, global regulatory pathways and IP/freedom-to-operate.
  • Strong financial acumen, including market sizing, forecasting, NPV/ROI analysis and licensing or acquisition evaluation.
Benefits
  • Total compensation package consisting of base salary, bonus, and incentive plans.
  • 401k plan with company match.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance for employees and their families.
