Job summary

DoorDash, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director, Global Cyber Defense to lead the Cyber Defense organization across DoorDash and its subsidiaries.

You will oversee Incident Response, Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and Insider Threat teams, reporting to the Global CSO to enhance the company’s security posture globally. You will partner with senior leaders to align security strategy with business goals, manage global incidents, and drive adoption of advanced detection

Qualifications

• 15+ years of cyber defense experience with 10+ in a cloud-native environment
• 10+ years of people management experience within a security organization
• Experience leading global incident response and security operations teams at technology companies
• Deep technical security expertise in cyber defense functional areas
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
• Exceptional collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to build strong relationships across IT, legal, compliance, HR, and business units
• Familiarity with cyber defense platforms (e.g. SIEM) and their implementation
• Ability to thrive in a very fast-paced and diverse environment

Responsibilities

• Align the Cyber Defense strategy with the overall business objectives of DoorDash in collaboration with the CSO and senior leaders
• Lead the response to information security incidents, including investigation, countermeasures, and recovery efforts
• Coordinate with incident responders, cross-functional partners, and external law enforcement as needed
• Identify and investigate insider threats, partnering with Legal, Fraud, and HR
• Evaluate and implement advanced threat detection technologies and techniques
• Collect and analyze threat intelligence to proactively identify and mitigate top threats
• Grow the engineering-first Cyber Defense program with scalable services and AI-enabled capabilities
• Define and deliver on SLAs and raise operational resilience
• Mentor and train security engineers and managers to foster continuous learning

About the Role

The Senior Director, Global Cyber Defense will lead DoorDash’s Cyber Defense organization, including all Incident Response, Detection Engineering, Threat Intelligence, Threat Hunting, and Insider Threat teams at the company and its subsidiaries globally. The role will directly report to the Global Chief Security Officer and be responsible for ensuring the organization's security posture by proactively identifying, investigating, and mitigating cybersecurity threats and incidents, as well as developing and implementing strategic plans, policies, and procedures to enhance the company's security posture.

• Work directly with the CSO and other senior leaders to align the Cyber Defense strategy with the overall business objectives of DoorDash,
• Lead the response to information security incidents, including investigation of, countermeasures to, and recovery from cyber attacks, unauthorized access, and policy breaches,
• Engage, interact, and coordinate with incident responders, cross-functional partners within DoorDash, as well as external law enforcement,
• Identify and investigate insider threats, partnering with key stakeholders such as Legal, Fraud and HR,
• Evaluate and implement advanced threat detection technologies and techniques to enhance the organization's detection capabilities
• Collect and analyze information security threat intelligence to proactively identify, assess and mitigate top threats that could impact DoorDash.
• Continue to grow and mature the engineering-first Cyber Defense program that operates scalable services and processes, leveraging mature and frontier AI technologies to thrive in a high threat environment,
• Define and deliver on service level agreements (SLAs) and raise the bar in operational resilience and excellence,
• Mentor and train security engineers and managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration within the organization,

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants.
