With rapid growth in the US market, we’re looking for a Senior Director of Finance to lead and manage our financial operations in the US.

Overview

This senior leadership role will be accountable for all financial management across the US market. As Senior Director of Finance, you’ll oversee financial operations, from day-to-day financial management to annual audits, compliance, cash flow management, and financial processes. You will lead a team of finance and commercial specialists, ensuring robust financial disciplines are implemented to support our rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day financial management of the business, ensuring that all financial processes are effectively executed, including the design, implementation, and monitoring of AP and AR processes, and customer billing and supplier purchasing in alignment with contracts and best practices.
• Manage regular financial routines such as WIP management, payroll processing, balance sheet reconciliations, payment runs, and expense management. Prepare and submit statutory and regulatory accounts, tax returns, and other required tax reporting.

Payroll, Systems, and Productivity

• Manage outsourced payroll and maintain financial systems and tools.
• Oversee the outsourced payroll provider and ensure all financial suppliers meet key performance indicators, including service quality and cost management.
• Continuously improve and develop financial systems and processes in the US market to enhance productivity.
• Lead financial training across the business, ensuring compliance with relevant systems, and develop processes to audit and investigate productivity and commercial performance, with a focus on driving profitability improvements.

Regulatory & Audit Compliance

• Ensure that all financial records, including the balance sheet, are accurate and compliant with relevant standards.
• Lead the submission of audit information and work with company auditors to ensure timely and accurate submission of legal and regulatory filings.
• Coordinate with the UK Commercial Director as necessary to maintain full regulatory, statutory, and audit compliance.

Cash Flow Management

• Lead the cash flow strategy in the US market.
• Establish and manage daily, weekly, and periodic cash flow processes with regular reviews of cash management activities.
• Provide cash flow updates to the Executive team and the Board, addressing issues to ensure solvency and continuity.
• Develop strategies to maximize free cash flow while maintaining controls over retail trading processes, including purchasing, stock recording, and balance sheet reconciliation.

Management Information and Budgeting

• Provide accurate, timely, and actionable reporting to the Board and Executive teams for the US market, including monthly management accounts, budget vs. actual analysis, and insights into variances.
• Support executives in preparing budgets, forecasts, and business reports to guide strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a senior finance leader with strong understanding of market dynamics, particularly in retail and high-growth environments.
• Proven track record of managing financial operations, including overseeing financial processes, reporting, budgeting, and financial strategy.
• Strong passion for driving profitability and optimizing financial performance in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• In-depth knowledge of US tax, payroll, and regulatory requirements, with technical accounting capabilities and relevant qualifications.
