Job summary

Mount Carmel Health System is seeking a Director of Critical Care to oversee the Cardiac ICU, Medical ICU, Neuro ICU, and Surgical Trauma ICU, plus intermediate care units. The role collaborates with physicians and leadership to drive evidence-based care and staff engagement.

The ideal candidate has an Ohio RN license, BSN, and a Master’s in Nursing, Healthcare, or Business, with prior ICU leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• RN license in Ohio (required).
• BSN degree required.
• Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, Business, or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Drive evidence-based and best-practice care with physicians and specialists.
• Develop and support nursing services leadership.
• Oversee all Intensive Care Units and related units.
• Develop strategy for positive patient experience and colleague engagement.
• Operationalize organizational initiatives and present to frontline staff.
• Plan succession for leadership roles.
• Ensure operations stay within productivity targets and evolving dynamics.
• Align with system leadership to foster strong working relationships.
• Collaborate with senior leadership across the organization.
