Job description

Organization Summary

Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that mobilizes the community to care for those in need, activate Jewish life, safeguard the people of Israel, and combat antisemitism and hatred locally and in more than 70 countries worldwide. Each year, Federation engages thousands of donors and volunteers to generate tens of millions of dollars in philanthropic support, sustaining a network that delivers critical services, builds community, and responds to urgent challenges. Staff play a direct role in advancing this work across the Palm Beaches and beyond.

Position Summary

The Senior Director, Creative & Digital Services is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for bringing Federation's brand to life through creative production, digital marketing, and multimedia storytelling. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Marketing & Communications, this role leads the combined Creative Services and Digital Marketing function and directly supervises the Digital Marketing, Digital Design, and Graphic Design.

The Senior Director owns creative execution across the portfolio, including graphic, digital, and web design, video and photo direction, and brand-compliant production for campaigns, events, and donor materials. The role also leads Federation's digital ecosystem, including website strategy, SEO and SEM, paid online media, email marketing and automation, social optimization, CRM marketing platforms, and analytics, turning digital and campaign data into measurable results.

In addition, the Senior Director produces mosaic, Federation’s award-winning TV news magazine, and is responsible for transforming it from a television show into a multimedia brand that lives across platforms. Leading a digital-first content strategy spanning video, audio, social, and web, the Senior Director ensures mosaic produces and distributes the most trusted and engaging Jewish stories, news, and perspectives.

Working within the brand architecture and strategy set by the SVP, the Senior Director sets creative and digital production standards, enforces brand consistency and creative SOPs, and leads the responsible adoption of marketing technology and AI across creative and digital workflows.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Creative & Content Direction
  • Drive creative direction by shaping the concepts for major campaigns and guiding the visual work to ensure strong, consistent execution across organizational priorities.
  • Bring Federation's brand to life across all creative work, executing the organization’s voice, look, and visual standards and maintaining brand integrity across every asset.
  • Develop and execute a multi-channel content and creative strategy across print, digital, email, social media, and web, aligned with organizational goals and audience needs.
  • Partner with the SVP and the AVP, Communications to translate the core messaging strategy, stories, and cases for support into compelling creative that advances fundraising and strategic goals.
  • Set the creative vision for fundraising by defining the ideas, themes, and visual direction that guide campaigns, events, and donor communications.
  • Produce fundraising creative, including appeals, presentations, proposals reports, publications and event pieces that clearly convey Federation’s mission and impact need and inspire donors to give.
Creative Production & Execution
  • Oversee all creative production, including graphic, digital, and print design, video and photo storytelling, and print production, ensuring every asset is high-quality and aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ensure on-time delivery by working closely with the team to keep projects moving and meet deadlines across channels.
  • Set and enforce editorial and production standards by establishing clear workflows, quality benchmarks, and performance metrics that support timely, accurate deliverables.
Digital Marketing & Engagement
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all digital marketing initiatives, fostering innovation, ensuring accountability, and ensuring all digital content, platforms, and user experiences align with brand standards, organizational messaging, and strategic goals.
  • Optimize digital engagement and conversion pathways to increase online registrations, donations, participation, and overall user satisfaction.
  • Lead Federation's digital ecosystem through effective use of SEO, SEM, paid online media, social optimization, email marketing and automation, personalization tools, and emerging technologies that strengthen visibility, engagement, and donor experiences.
  • Partner with Marketing colleagues and the Communications team to distribute content effectively across digital channels, maximizing audience reach, fundraising results, event participation, and brand awareness.
Mosaic & Media Brand
  • Produce mosaic, Federation's TV news magazine, including developing episode content, ensuring effective promotional marketing, and managing relationships with production vendors and show talent and leadership.
  • Develop and implement a detailed annual content plan that keeps mosaic aligned with Federation's overall communications strategy, focused on institutional priorities, and serving as a driver of engagement and fundraising.
  • Partner with the SVP to develop and implement a strategy for leveraging the mosaic media brand across platforms, positioning broadcast as one output rather than the primary product.
  • Advance a digital-first approach for mosaic by creating content for social media, email, and web that goes beyond repurposing broadcast cutdowns.
Marketing Technology, CRM & Analytics
  • Partner with ITS and Donor Services on the implementation, optimization, and organizational adoption of Microsoft Dynamics marketing platforms, including Customer Insights Journeys, Stripe Payments, and Power Pages, ensuring they effectively support fundraising and engagement goals.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze digital traffic and usage, leveraging analytics and market research to recommend strategies that increase engagement and improve user experience.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for digital marketing and online donor engagement, including campaign performance, donor retention, and return on investment and produce executive-level reporting for the SVP.
  • Maintain strategic oversight, with ITS, of web, CRM, and analytics vendor relationships, and assist in front-end troubleshooting of Federation's website, online forms, and related workflows, while ITS retains ownership of cybersecurity and all backend elements, including databases, hosting, and domains.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, and approaches that support evolving marketing and fundraising needs, expand reach, improve personalization, and strengthen engagement.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Directly supervise Digital and Graphic Designers and the Digital Marketing Manager, owning day-to-day creative and digital production.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team by providing clear direction, coaching, and support to designers and digital staff so they can do their best work.
  • Build team capabilities by strengthening skills in design, digital content, video and photo production, and emerging creative formats.
  • Develop and manage external partners by selecting, guiding, and evaluating consultants, freelancers, and creative vendors to expand capacity and ensure high-quality work.
  • Lead responsible adoption of marketing technology and AI across creative and digital workflows, directing team members to use approved tools and follow all brand, quality, and compliance guidelines.
  • Enforce brand and style standards and creative SOPs, including intake, review, approvals, and quality-control checklists, across all creative and digital output.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture by encouraging open communication, shared problem-solving, and a commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
Performance & Innovation
  • Establish clear performance metrics to evaluate the efficacy of content, creative assets, and campaigns, using measurable indicators to track quality, engagement, and impact.
  • Use data and insights to improve strategy by analyzing performance, pinpointing successful approaches, and refining creative and content for stronger results.
  • Stay current on industry trends by monitoring new tools, technologies, and formats, and introducing innovative ideas that improve storytelling and audience engagement.
Qualifications and Success Factors
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital media, communications, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience leading creative services, digital marketing, or organizational digital strategy, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and skills.
  • Proven team leadership with a track record of managing multidisciplinary creative and digital teams and high-volume production environments.
  • Strong creative portfolio demonstrating excellence in design, storytelling, and multi-channel campaign execution.
  • Hands-on command of web and design tools (WordPress, Figma, Adobe, Elementor) sufficient to produce one's own work and direct the quality, process, and hands-on production of staff and contractors.
  • Hands-on digital marketing experience across SEO and SEM, paid online media, and email marketing and automation.
  • Strong analytics capability that converts campaign and donor data into strategy and measurable results (Google Analytics, A/B testing, campaign reporting).
  • Deep marketing-automation experience, including customer lifecycle journeys; experience with Microsoft Dynamics Customer Insights Journeys, Stripe, and Power Pages a plus.
