Job description

Position Summary

This senior leadership role is responsible for protecting and advancing associate engagement and the company's reputation through clear, credible, and strategically aligned communications. This individual serves as a trusted advisor to the executive team and operates effectively across a global matrix organization – aligning national, Business Unit, and functional communications with company priorities while navigating competing stakeholder needs. The role requires a blend of detailed strategy and on-the-ground execution, deep experience communicating to large, distributed, and frontline workforces, and the ability to advise executives, direct crisis responses, or develop communications that reach a manufacturing floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Executive advisory and leadership alignment. Serve as a strategic communications advisor to the U.S. company President and senior leadership team, translating complex business priorities into clear, consistent narratives that align leaders on business and cultural priorities and move the organization forward.
  • Internal communications and associate engagement. Lead enterprise internal communications programs that build organizational alignment, reinforce culture, and sustain trust across all levels of the business, including complex, multi-site environments with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Content creation and editorial leadership. Set the standard for communications quality across the function. Lead the development of high-impact content for internal and external audiences – including executive communications, town hall materials, corporate narratives, press materials, digital content, and leadership messaging – ensuring every output is clear, on‑brand, and purpose-driven.
  • Transformation and change communications. Develop and execute communications strategy for company‑wide transformation initiatives, mobilizing associates around strategic change management, cultural evolution, and performance priorities.
  • Frontline communications strategy. Design and lead communications strategies that reach and resonate with large hourly and frontline workforces, including field-based sales, manufacturing, and distribution associates. Develop channel strategies, messaging frameworks, and manager enablement tools that bridge the gap between corporate strategy and the frontline.
  • External reputation and media relations. Oversee earned media strategy, spokesperson development, and proactive PR to drive sustained corporate and trade coverage, shaping and protecting the company's external narrative across consumer, industry, and other relevant audiences.
  • Crisis and issues management. Lead communications response for high‑impact crises including product recalls, regulatory events, cyber incidents, and workforce issues. Serve as a calm, credible presence under pressure, partnering with Legal, PEOPLE, and Operations to protect trust and business continuity.
  • Cross‑functional partnership. Build trusted working relationships across PEOPLE, Finance, Sales, Operations, Transformation Office, and Marketing, serving as a communications partner, not just a service provider, at every level of the organization.
  • Global matrix navigation. Partner with global communications, regional business units, and functional leadership to ensure message alignment and execution, building productive relationships across geographies and levels while balancing global standards with local relevance.
  • Team leadership and development. Lead and develop a high‑performing communications team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and creative rigor by setting clear expectations, investing in talent growth, and delivering results with minimal agency reliance.
Leadership Competencies
  • Situational Adaptability: Adjusts approach and attitude in real time according to the changing demands of different situations.
  • Manages Ambiguity: Operates effectively even when things are not certain or the way forward is not clear.
  • Drives Engagement: Creates a climate where people are motivated to do their best and help the organization achieve its objectives.
  • Drives Vision and Purpose: Paints a compelling picture of the vision and strategy that motivates others to action.
  • Ensures Accountability: Holds self and others accountable to meet commitments.
  • Challenges and Aligns: Challenges Grupo Bimbo to achieve better results aligned with the Business Plan.
  • Manages Complexity: Makes sense of complex, high‑quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to solve problems effectively.
  • Strategic Mindset: Sees ahead to future possibilities and translates them into breakthrough strategies.
