Job Description

This executive leadership role will define the future of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical/Mechanical Plant Management Systems (EMPS) for OCI’s hyperscale and GW‑scale data center platforms. You will drive global standardization, software architecture, controls integration, operational intelligence, and automation strategies that enable world‑class reliability, scalability, efficiency, and speed of deployment.

You will lead cross‑functional engineering teams and partner closely with mechanical, electrical, network, software, operations, commissioning, manufacturing, and supply chain organizations to establish a unified controls ecosystem supporting OCI’s next‑generation infrastructure. This is a highly visible role with broad influence across OCI engineering strategy, technology roadmaps, vendor ecosystems, and long‑term infrastructure innovation.

What You’ll Do
Strategy & Technical Leadership
  • Define and lead the global strategy for BMS and EMPS controls architecture across OCI’s GW‑scale data center portfolio.
  • Establish long‑term controls and automation roadmaps supporting hyperscale cloud and AI infrastructure growth.
  • Develop standardized controls philosophies, architectures, software frameworks, and operational models for global deployments.
  • Drive the evolution of intelligent, software‑driven infrastructure management platforms focused on resiliency, automation, telemetry, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead technical direction for advanced controls integration across mechanical, electrical, thermal, and critical infrastructure systems.
Standards & Global Design Governance
  • Establish global engineering standards, design guidelines, software requirements, and integration protocols for BMS/EMPS systems.
  • Drive consistency and scalability across regions, vendors, and deployment models while balancing local regulatory requirements.
  • Define controls cybersecurity, data integrity, alarming, telemetry, and redundancy standards for mission‑critical operations.
  • Create governance models for controls software lifecycle management, versioning, validation, and deployment practices.
Software & Controls Platform Development
  • Lead the development and integration strategy for next‑generation controls software platforms, automation systems, and analytics capabilities.
  • Drive adoption of intelligent monitoring, predictive analytics, automated optimization, and AI‑driven operational controls.
  • Partner with software engineering teams to define data architectures, APIs, visualization platforms, and enterprise integration strategies.
  • Establish scalable approaches for fleet‑wide controls management, remote operations, and digital infrastructure visibility.
Vendor & Product Strategy
  • Lead evaluation, qualification, and strategic selection of global controls vendors, hardware platforms, and software technologies.
  • Influence supplier roadmaps and partner with manufacturers to drive innovation aligned with OCI’s long‑term infrastructure strategy.
  • Develop vendor qualification standards, interoperability requirements, and performance benchmarks.
  • Build strategic partnerships that accelerate deployment speed, operational reliability, and technology advancement.
Organizational Leadership
  • Build and lead high‑performing global engineering teams focused on controls design, software integration, and operational innovation.
  • Drive collaboration across design engineering, operations, commissioning, manufacturing, construction, and software organizations.
  • Establish scalable engineering processes that support rapid global infrastructure growth.
  • Mentor and develop technical leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
  • Deep expertise in BMS, EMPS, SCADA, PLC, or mission‑critical controls systems within hyperscale data centers, industrial infrastructure, or large‑scale critical facilities.
  • Proven experience developing global engineering standards and controls architectures for large‑scale infrastructure deployments.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical plant operations, thermal systems, power infrastructure, and mission‑critical reliability requirements.
  • Experience leading controls software strategy, automation platforms, telemetry systems, and operational analytics initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex cross‑functional engineering programs and large technical organizations.
  • Strong vendor management and product evaluation experience across controls hardware and software ecosystems.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, technical leadership, communication, and organizational influence skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑growth, highly technical environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting hyperscale or GW‑scale data center infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with AI/HPC infrastructure operational requirements and high‑density cooling environments.
  • Experience with digital twins, advanced analytics, machine learning, or autonomous infrastructure operations.
  • Knowledge of global regulatory and compliance standards related to controls systems and critical infrastructure.
  • Background in cloud infrastructure, industrial automation, or large‑scale critical facilities engineering.
