HW3 is partnering with a leading financial services institution to hire a Senior Director to lead AI, data science, and automation across Internal Audit in Reston, VA.

This role will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of advanced analytics and AI capabilities that improve audit efficiency, risk detection, and insight generation. You’ll initially lead a three-person team, with the opportunity to expand the function over time.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data science, AI, analytics, automation or enterprise tech delivery.
• 5+ years leading technical teams.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute the AI, analytics, and automation roadmap for Internal Audit.
• Lead development and production deployment of ML, predictive analytics, GenAI, and multi-agent workflows.
• Build capabilities for continuous monitoring, anomaly detection, automated evidence generation, and control reporting.
• Partner with Technology and Enterprise AI teams to develop scalable platforms and reusable services.
• Establish evaluation, monitoring, and governance practices for reliable, secure AI adoption.
• Lead and develop technical talent with measurable improvements in quality, efficiency, and adoption.

This role will own the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of advanced analytics and AI capabilities that improve audit efficiency, risk detection, and insight generation. You’ll initially lead a three-person team, with the opportunity to expand the function over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the AI, analytics, and automation roadmap for Internal Audit.
• Lead the development and production deployment of ML, predictive analytics, GenAI, and multi-agent workflows.
• Build capabilities supporting continuous monitoring, anomaly detection, automated evidence generation, and control reporting.
• Partner with Technology and Enterprise AI teams to develop scalable platforms and reusable services.
• Establish evaluation, monitoring, and governance practices that support reliable, secure AI adoption.
• Lead and develop technical talent while demonstrating measurable improvements in quality, efficiency, and adoption.

Requirements

• 8+ years of relevant experience across data science, AI, analytics, automation or enterprise technology delivery.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams.
• Personal experience building ML, predictive, or statistical models, with the ability to guide technique selection, model refinement, and calibration.
• Hands-on experience architecting and developing multi-agent AI workflows, including RAG, evaluation suites and orchestration.
• Proven success taking AI or analytics capabilities from concept into production.
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment.
• Strong executive communication skills and the ability to translate technical capabilities into business outcomes.
• Experience in internal audit, controls, or risk management is advantageous.
