Job summary

Attalon, Emerging Products & Technologies (EP&T) seeks a Director of Advanced Lasers to lead a multi-disciplinary team in Warren and Somerset NJ. You will drive technical and programmatic direction for advanced laser systems used in military applications and serve as the primary customer interface throughout program capture and execution.

You will collaborate with senior leadership on business strategy, staffing, and annual operating plans while managing site expenses and facilities.

Qualifications

• Masters or Ph.D. in optics, physics, applied physics or electrical engineering.
• 15+ years of relevant experience in a multi-discipline laser development environment.
• 7+ years of diversified leadership, planning, communicating, organizing and motivating people.
• Experience leading highly technical, multi-discipline teams in advanced laser development with customer interface.
• Experience selling new programs and collaborating with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, program managers, and operations staff developing advanced laser systems.
• Provide technical, programmatic and business leadership.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on strategy and capture efforts.
• Serve as primary customer interface during program capture and support execution.
• Collaborate on staffing/hiring across EP&T sites; manage annual operating plan and site expenses.
• Oversee facilities management; support EH&S, shipping, receiving, quality and inventory control.
