Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to support meal setup, service, and cleanup in a Residence/Home setting. You will assist with meal preparation, tray delivery, dining room setup, and maintaining cleanliness while adhering to health and safety standards.

The role emphasizes serving residents with courtesy, supporting training of dietary staff, and contributing to a respectful, inclusive dining environment for seniors.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler’s Certificate.
• Experience in food service with seniors preferred.
• Must pass Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Assist in the set up and preparation of service items (beverages, salads, desserts).
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and maintaining kitchen and dining area cleanliness.
• Assist with catering and participate in special events and theme occasions.
• Assist in orientation and training of new dietary employees.
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• Uphold residents rights and responsibilities and promote them.
