Job summary

Lucid Motors is seeking a Technical Specialist to join our electric vehicle design team in California. You will create high-quality digital surface models communicating design intent and drive production-ready surfaces for tooling releases.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years with Alias/ICEM Surf in a top-tier setting, strong Class A experience, and a background in automotive design. Collaborate with Design and Engineering to ensure feasibility and aesthetic integrity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of surfacing experience with Alias or ICEM Surf in a top tier, preferably production environment.
• Class A or production experience
• An understanding of visualization software, Catia or Grasshopper is also beneficial
• Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Automotive Design, Industrial Design, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, accurate 3D digital surface models that communicate conceptual design intent using Autodesk Alias or ICEM Surf
• Develop digital surfaces from the concept stage through production-ready quality for tooling release
• Advise on and recommend solutions to overcome design and engineering challenges
• Contribute to a variety of projects, including advanced design, show cars, and production vehicles
• Collaborate closely with Design and Engineering teams to maintain design intent and production feasibility
• Communicate effectively across cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution
