Job summary

Mars Incorporated is seeking a Sr. Engineering Project Manager - Controls (Finance) to lead digitalization and automation initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites in the U.S.

This role focuses on capital projects, system integration, and bridging plant-floor controls with Factory IT. The successful candidate will manage multi‑million dollar investments, work withControls engineers and IT teams, and travel up to 50% for commissioning, startups, and handovers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 5+ years' experience in a comparable technical position or 10+ years' controls experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
• In-depth knowledge of industrial low-voltage electrical systems, instrumentation, PLCs, and HMI/SCADA interfaces (Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley, Siemens).
• Knowledge of MES/MOM systems, Factory IT systems, and cybersecurity is a plus.
• Experience managing capital projects (scheduling, budgeting, contractors).
• Ability to work in teams and influence others.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% for site commissioning and handovers.

Responsibilities

• Lead digitalization and automation projects from scoping to handover.
• Oversee system integration within existing manufacturing infrastructure.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Manage project budgets and resources to meet targets.
• Provide training and knowledge transfer to operations teams.
• Communicate status and milestones to stakeholders.
