Job summary

Kings County Hospital Center, part of NYC Health + Hospitals, seeks a Dietitian/Nutritionist to organize and direct nutrition services within the Food and Nutrition Department. Minimum qualifications include 1 year of nutrition experience and active RD/NYSED certification. This is a full-time, on-site position within a major New York hospital setting.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of full-time nutrition experience as a Dietitian or a Dietitian-Nutritionist.
• Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian; or
• Current certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

Responsibilities

• Performs nutritional assessments and interviews clients to obtain history of food habits and preferences.
• Interprets laboratory, physical, and social data in medical records.
• Directs service of client diets and coordinates with food service managers in menu planning and preparation.
• Plans and directs the operation of the nutrition service, ensuring coverage and adherence to clinical standards.
