Ryder System, Inc. is hiring a Senior Level Diesel Technician in Astoria, New York to maintain and repair heavy-duty vehicles. You’ll perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and complex repairs with state-of-the-art equipment in a safety-focused shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including preventive maintenance and diagnostics.
• Advanced repairs including engine work and after-treatment.
• CDL A preferred; other location certifications as required by location.

Responsabilités

• Perform standard vehicle maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical/electrical problems.
• Coordinate with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the issue.
• Mentor and coach other technicians.
• Operate shop management systems and diagnostic equipment.
• Possibly engage in road tests and vehicle inspections.
