Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Vocational or Technical Certification preferred.
• Basic tools, required.
• Aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work).
• Diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems.
• Advanced repairs including major engine work and diesel aftertreatment or fuel injection repairs.
• Four years or more relevant work experience preferred.
• CDL Class A preferred; other location-specific certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard maintenance.
• Performs preventive maintenance.
• Performs complex repairs with minimal (if any) support.
• Diagnoses and repairs complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools.
• Interacts with customers/drivers to determine nature of the complaint.
• Instructs and advises other technicians on procedures and diagnostics.
• Coaches/mentors other technicians.
• Other support duties as required to support operations.
