Job summary

Marine Systems, Inc is seeking a Shop Mechanic 3 at our Chesapeake, VA facility. The role involves disassembling, inspecting, assembling and calibrating diesel engine components with precision equipment and assisting senior mechanics on complex tasks.

You will work in a fast-paced shop, following MSI work instructions and safety policies. The successful candidate will perform basic documentation, lift up to 40 pounds, and operate tools such as micrometers, calipers and tape measures.

Responsibilities

• Completes safety training, uses PPE and keeps a clean, orderly work area.
• Disassembles, inspects, assembles and calibrates diesel engine components as directed.
• Assists with basic precision measurements using micrometers, calipers and tape measures.
• Moves assemblies with crane, dolly or forklift and maintains documentation.
• Supports Class I & II level tasks and attends required training.
