You will set up, program, and operate single-point diamond turning equipment to produce sub-micron precision optical components and high-precision mechanical assemblies for aerospace and defense. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in CNC machining, experience with diamond turning or precision optics, and strong blueprint reading and GD&T skills.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience in single-point diamond turning or precision optics fabrication.
• Ability to interpret engineering blueprints and GD&T symbols.

Responsibilities

• Machine Operation: Set up and operate ultra-precision diamond turning lathes to fabricate optical surfaces.
• CNC Programming: Read, interpret, and edit CNC programs on machine controllers.
• Quality Metrology: Perform post-process inspections with interferometers, profilometers, and microscopes.
• Process Optimization: Monitor tool wear and adjust feeds/speeds to optimize quality.
• Maintenance & Safety: Perform preventive maintenance and comply with ISO 9001.
