Job summary

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career-oriented SOFTWARE & SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our team supporting the Marine Corps in STAFFORD, VA. This role applies modern DevSecOps, programming, and Systems Engineering to solve complex operational problems with rigorous testing and documented processes.

The engineer will lead design, prototyping, SEPs/ICDs, and SEAT milestones while ensuring security compliance and cross-functional coordination across programs and vendors.

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8570/DoDi 8140 IAT Level III certification is required (e.g., CISSP).
• Experience directing SDLC for complex enterprise or tactical problems.
• Production RHEL infrastructure experience with SELinux, firewalls, tuning.
• Experience with ITIL/ITSM, SAFe, and Agile practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level design, prototyping, and runbook documentation.
• Develop and review SEPs, ICDs, and lead SETR milestones from design to software acceptance.
• Assess and integrate capabilities across ground, air, maritime, space platforms.
• Design TES/TEMP strategies and perform thorough testing.
• Support configuration, change, release management and risk assessments.
• Oversee security compliance (DISA STIGs, GPOs, ACAS) and Linux troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
