Job summary

PennEngineering is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to embed security into every stage of cloud-native development. You will own the security posture of our AWS environment, build guardrails, and automate secure delivery across AI-powered platforms and customer-facing systems.

This leadership role blends hands-on engineering with platform thinking, driving SAST/DAST/SCA pipelines, policy-as-code, incident response, and collaboration with AI teams to scale secure, rapid deployments.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in cloud security, DevSecOps, or security engineering.
• Deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture and security services (IAM, Security Hub, GuardDuty, Config, KMS).
• Proven experience integrating automated security tooling into CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code and policy-as-code using Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Go, or Bash.
• Experience securing containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
• Excellent communication skills to translate security risks to leadership.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Continuously enhance the security posture of the AWS cloud and customer-facing platforms.
• Design and implement automated security tooling and CI/CD checks.
• Lead automated governance via policy-as-code across infrastructure.
• Manage threat detection, incident response, and secure operations in cloud environments.
